This is Tama's first time offering a copper snare drum in their popular Starphonic series of drums, and it does not disappoint! Featuring a 7" x 14" design, this drum can create a sound unique to its copper build, and characteristic of a metal snare drum.The 1.2 mm copper shell creates dark and dry tones featuring low overtones. This drum is sensitive! A wide range of sounds can be found by simply changing your playing spots. While the center is very dry and articulate, playing near the edges will open a wide breadth of overtones.This drum is also a looker. The copper shell feature a brushed stain finish. When put aside the chrome hardware, the overall look of the drum is one that is modern and classy. While this drum is unique in the Starphonic series it still features the grooved hoop, freedom lugs, and many other build qualities that have become staples of the Starphonic series of drums.
