I also bought some new hybrid hinges and clasp to replace the plastic ones it came with. And since I've broken the plastic strip that keeps the lid from tipping all the way back, I also purchased a pack of two stainless steel wire supports and placed one on each side. I've discovered that the silicone seal now takes the cooler to a full 5 1/2 days ice retention in the car during 90° days here in California and keeps any water from sloshing out when I lift it out of the car to drain it.
