DetailFor the better part of five years, the Rock Shox Reverb has remained a staple in the world of dropper posts, receiving only minor updates along the way. Rock Shox has felt the competition heating up with new players producing top-notch dropper posts, such as the 9Point8 Fall Line and the Race Face Turbine. For 2016, Rock Shox has revamped the Reverb from the inside-out. Well, at least most notably from the inside. Although similar in appearance, the 2016 Reverb is sporting all new internals, including updated SKF seals, and a new internal floating piston. These updates will make the Reverb as smooth as possible in a variety of conditions. Like the old Reverb, the return speed of the post is adjustable, but Rock Shox has increased the maximum return speed for those who need very quick action. And perhaps most notable, the Reverb is now available in a 170mm drop option. This is exciting news for taller riders, especially as geometry trends on bikes are tending towards shorter seat tubes. As with the previous model, the Reverb Stealth is only compatible with frames that accommodate internal dropper post routing. The Reverb Stealth is Match Maker X compatible, and uses the Connectamajig quick-connect system for easy installation/removal.
