An advanced design combined with the absolute best materials The Apex Orca was designed by Travis Rice and comes with an advanced construction and the best materials. Carbon over carbon over magnesium envelops a core of recycled PET plastic, paulownia, balsa wood and aspen wood. A tight 7 metre radius combined with a short, wide shape allows you to lay down the deepest Euro carves without touching the piste with your toes. The long nose and the "whale tail" offer plenty of room for creativity, whether in the backcountry or on the piste. Riding style This board is perfect for you if you're an advanced rider always on the hunt for pristine powder slopes and deep carving turns. Shape The tapered directional shape is perfect for all-mountain and freeriding. The nose is longer and wider than the tail for controlled turns in any terrain. The additional setback of the bindings gives the board a lot of uplift in powder. The Magne-Traction technology provides improved edge hold with serrated edges. Especially on icy slopes they unfold their full potential. Profile The C2x profile comes with a short rocker between the bindings combined with a large camber underneath the bindings. This combination offers a good edge hold thanks to the camber areas, as well as good lift and unlimited freestyle action without canting thanks to the rocker. Flex The medium-stiff flex ensures precise control and fast board response. Construction The T.Rice Apex Orca construction is LIB Tech's high-end build and comes with a lightweight, thin tip and tail profile combined with a durable carbon wrapped carbon stiffener. The core is made of aspen, paulownia wood and recycled PET plastic, combined with balsa for reduced weight with less vibration. For the stiffening, Lib Tech use a combination of glass fibre, carbon and magnesium fibres. Magnesium is two times more resistant than traditional fibreglass and offers the necessary stiffness with maximum weight reduction. The sintered base is very fast, but requires careful maintenance.
