The Grivel Air Tech Racing is for climbers looking for the lightest possible tool without sacrificing the strength and durability of a forged Chromolly steel head. The shaft resists 280 kg when tested, according to the UIAA methods, and is finished with a new asymmetrical steel spike. Further, it is slightly curved to improve the hold on snow and allow self-arrests. The axe is available in two lengths, and with Easy Slider — a new hand rest that slides to the top of the shaft when sunk in snow, or to the bottom to support the hand in traction. Weighs 14.1 oz.
