I ripped the bad piece out and replaced it with the new piece I purchased from Rockler after machining down to the size I needed.This material was absolutely perfect. It was straight and flat and excellent grain pattern. After regluing the panels together and sanding down the lid looked new again.After I put the finish on the lid and reattached it you could not tell the difference between the original and new.
