The Falcon 21 from Powertraveller is a lightweight solar panel primarily aimed at charging your larger electrical devices such as tablets, cameras, power banks for storing the power and laptops under 40W only. Coming in at 470g, the Falcon is perfect for stashing in your pack for on-the-go power without the weight penalty of some other solar setups. It features a foldable design that offers triple solar panels for maximum solar power, but still means it can pack away to roughly a third of the size and be stashed in your pack when not in use. The other advantage of the foldable design is that it provides protection to the solar panels. The Falcon uses SunPower cells, high-efficiency monocrystalline panels that are capable of producing 25-35% more power when compared to conventional solar cells, you’ll never be without juice in the hills again.Capable of a max output of 5V/3A vis the USB output, the Falcon will comfortably charge your small and medium devices just using the power of the sun. The DC output is capable of outputting 20V/1A, perfect for your larger electrical devices.The panel has 4 metal eyelets and includes two carabiners, making it easy to attach the panel to packs, tents or your bike panniers when cycle touring. This versatility will help ensure you can achieve optimal sun power. The panel also features an IPX4 rating which means it is capable of withstanding water splashes from any direction for up to 5 minutes so you get peace of mind if the weather turns whilst you’re charging.
