Posts were rotted off at ground level, and they had been set in cement. I used a long blade on my sawzall, and cut them off at ground level. Cleaned out the rotted wood, that left a nice round hole in cement. Went to HD, bought some heavy rebar, drilled a hole of same size up into the bottom of the post. Pounded rod into it, leaving about half of it sticking out. filled hole with cement that was mixed a bit sloppy, dropped post and rod down into it. Leveled and braced til the next day. Solid! The only reason that I did it this way, is that no one within 100 m of where I live sells lodge pole posts and rails, and I wanted to keep that look of fencing. ;tj · Review provided by Home DepotAll Reviews
