The Google Nest Mini is the new version of the Google Home Mini. Placed side by side, you can not immediately tell the difference between them. When you turn them over however, the Nest Mini has a built in hook to hang on the wall versus having to purchase a separate holder for the original home mini. The other give away is the power plug, it is now a barrel plug rather than a mini-USB. Setup is the same and handled through the Google Home app. The nest is supposed to have improved microphones to pick up your voice better. I had no problem asking Google from across the room and responses seemed to be a tad faster. The nest is supposed to have better sound as well. I created a speaker group with an original and the Nest and for what it's worth, you can tell the difference between the two. The Nest sounds a little bit richer and there is more bass, but don't expect full-bodied mind numbing sound from the device’s small speaker.
