I don’t know that much about telescopes, but this feels like a good quality middle of the road fancy telescope. The remote works really well to line up the stars and planets to view. It has amazing clarity. You can also purchase other lenses for it but it comes with 2. We’ve been watching the stars and planets at night from our deck in Los Angeles, and so far we’ve seen Venus, the moon and some stars. But we can’t wait to take it camping and see with a clearer sky.
